Why don't you offer more extensive sizing?
Although our initial bralette range is focused on body types with smaller breasts, we do have plans to expand our size range to be a brand that accommodates a wider range of body types. We're a small business so bear with us - when deciding on a direction for this business we had to choose in between high quality sustainable fabrics, vs, a wider size and product range. We believe in mindful clothing production and consumption and made an active decision to not contribute to the industry of fast fashion.
You can expect to start seeing these products introduced as early as Jan 2025.
How is Buff Practicing Sustainability
At Buff, sustainability is at the core of our mission. We are committed to doing our part for the planet while delivering high-quality products to our customers. Here's how:
- Thoughtful Fabric Choices
All of our products are made with recycled or natural/organic fibers, which are more sustainable alternatives to conventional materials. Our inaugural collection is crafted from high-quality organic cotton, grown without harmful pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. Organic farming methods help maintain healthy soil, conserve water, and reduce carbon emissions compared to traditional cotton farming.
Additionally, recycled materials—such as fabrics made from post-consumer plastics or textile waste—help divert waste from landfills and reduce the need for virgin resources, conserving energy and minimizing environmental impact. We prioritize durable, high-quality fabrics because we know underwear is a frequently replaced item. By ensuring longevity, we reduce waste while providing products that are good for your body and the planet. - Eco-Friendly Packaging
To minimize waste, our packaging is made from recycled and/or biodegradable materials. While hygiene standards often require intimates to be individually packaged, we offer an option at checkout to reduce packaging where possible, giving customers more sustainable choices. - A Small Business with Big Intentions
As a small, growing business, we acknowledge that our resources are currently limited. However, we are committed to ongoing learning and innovation, striving to improve our practices as we expand. One thing we’ll never compromise on is our stance against fast fashion. While many brands prioritize profit over the environment, we promise to grow at a pace that allows us to stay true to our values, putting sustainability and ethical practices first.
Buff is dedicated to creating products that feel good to wear and align with the values of our environmentally conscious community. We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to progress. Thank you for supporting us on this journey!
If you're a Canadian business, why do you take payments in USD?
THIS WILL TAKE EFFECT MID DEC 2024
At Buff, we always strive to make decisions that are best for both our customers and the long-term sustainability of our business. While we are proudly based in Canada, we’ve made the decision to collect payments in USD for the time being. Here’s why:
- Business Costs Are in USD
The global manufacturing industry predominantly operates in USD, which means most of our business expenses—such as fabric, production, and logistics—are also in USD. Switching to USD pricing helps us align our revenue with these costs and better manage our financial stability. - Vulnerability to CAD Valuation Changes
Given the current economic climate, the Canadian dollar’s value can fluctuate significantly. As a small business, we are particularly vulnerable to these changes. Pricing in USD helps protect us from sudden shifts in currency value, ensuring we can continue to operate sustainably and offer high-quality products. - Commitment to Fair Pricing
While payments are now collected in USD, we want to assure our Canadian customers that our prices will always reflect reasonable and consistent CAD values. We will not let prices constantly fluctuate with currency changes, so you can shop with confidence knowing you’re getting a fair deal.
Why Are Prices Now in USD Instead of CAD?
At Buff, we always strive to make decisions that are best for both our customers and the long-term sustainability of our business. While we are proudly based in Canada, we’ve made the decision to collect payments in USD for the time being. Here’s why:

We hope to return to accepting CAD payments in the future as our business grows and stabilizes. In the meantime, we thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate these challenges to keep providing the products you love.
